58 | MLK Historic District

This project navigates the complexities of historic district zoning rules and ordinances to expand and enhance the living space of a historic home. Key elements of the project include the creation of a new entryway and a comprehensive basement renovation. The basement transformation includes the addition of a retaining wall, allowing for a window to bring natural light into the downstairs area. Throughout the project, careful evaluation and exploration of opportunities were undertaken to ensure compliance with zoning regulations while maximizing the home's functionality and livability. This project demonstrates a sensitive and strategic approach to modernizing a historic property within the constraints of preservation guidelines.
